Hi! I’m Claire.
I’m the Owner and Stylist at One Love Studio YYC. I have always been obsessed with all things makeup, beauty, hair, fashion, nails and skin. I had my own mini salon set-up in my bedroom as a child, and any of my friends, my mom’s or my sister’s, became my next makeover victim/client. Voted most likely to be president of a beauty company in grade 8, it was inevitable I’d pursue a career in the beauty industry.
I believe that your hair, makeup, clothes, complexion, and overall “look” can all contribute to a sense of confidence and ease in your own skin. If your hair behaves, your morning is easier, you feel more confident and less distracted by your insecurities, so you can go on and be awesome doing other things.
I am passionate about lived-in, cool-girl hair, effortless cuts and styles, dimensional colours and easy, healthy styling.
I completed my hairstylist training at the Aveda Institute in Calgary, and then went on to build my career at the award-winning Redbloom Salon for 9 years. Before that, I trained as a makeup artist at Blanche Macdonald in Vancouver. I worked as a freelance makeup artist for many years before pursuing full-time hairstyling. I’ve done additional training in Vancouver, Las Vegas, Toronto and New Orleans, and have attended many other classes in Calgary.
In my free time, I love to snowboard, be in the sun on a beach, fly fish, eat and drink all the things and hang out with my friends, my love, and my kitten.
